These are the times that try our souls





The summer soldier and the sunshine unionist may hide in their closets, hoping and praying that the current nightmare will somehow go away, while those who stand up and join the fight against the billionaires will have the respect and admiration of women and men for the years, decades, and perhaps centuries to come.

When Thomas Paine wrote the words that we paraphrase here, almost 250 years ago, he could not have foreseen the crisis that we are now facing, yet here we are.  Labor is now faced with the biggest challenge it has known in its existence.  It is clear that the Trump regime wants to eliminate government unions altogether; any thinking union member should realize that non-government unions will soon follow. 
How should we meet this crisis?
